Establish a link between researchers and policy analysts from developing countries and professors and researchers from McGill to build research and analytical capacity. The goal is to build a global network that brings together researchers and research institutions from around the world, to build capacity and help local researchers to provide contextualized solutions to key economic and social policy challenges in developing countries.

Our mission is to build research capacity in developing countries and provides supports critical cutting-edge research through fostering the engagement and collaboration of a multidisciplinary team of faculty, practitioners, and students. ISID’s academic programs aim to train a new generation of passionate and innovative future leaders in the skills they need to conduct rigorous, normative and evidence-based analysis of the concepts, policies, and practices of international development. The e-learning ISID program aims to promote a higher participation of local experts in policy debates.
